1. Psalm 2:8-9. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule them with an iron scepter…
2. Psalm 72:8-11. He will rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. The desert tribes will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of distant shores will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him gifts. All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him. 3. Psalms 110:1-2. The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies.
4. Isaiah 2:4. He will judge between the nations, and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
5. Isaiah 14:1-2, The Lord will have compassion on Jacob; once again he will choose Israel…Nations will take them and bring them to their own place. And the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the Lord’s land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
6. Isaiah 49:22-23. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”
7. Jeremiah 3:17. At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the Lord, and all the nations will be gathered in Jerusalem to honor the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.
8. Ezekiel 36:36. Then the nations around you that remain [survive] will know that I the Lord, have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate.
9. Ezekiel 37:27-28. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Then the nations will know that I the Lord makes Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.
10. Daniel 7:27. Then the sovereignty, the power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.
11. Micah 4:1-3. In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established…Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
12. Zechariah 2:11. Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
13. Zechariah 14:16. Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
14. Rev. 2:26. To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations–He will rule them with an iron scepter…
15. Rev. 19:15. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” (All verses NIV)
As you can see the unsaved people will live on the earth into the millennium. This verse in Zechariah 14 is very clear.
Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem
will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain. 18 If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. (Zech. 14:16-19; NIV)Let’s pretend the pretribbers are correct about these people being Tribulation saints. If these saints were willing to follow Jesus during the worst Tribulation Period ever, why would they refuse to come worship at the Feast of Tabernacles? That makes no sense and yet that’s what the pretribbers want you to believe! In addition to the 15 passages, there are four judgments on the Gentiles (nations) at the end of this age, therefore, a fifth judgment (the Matt. 25 judgment) is not necessary.
(1) The judgment of the nations. In Joel 3:2-17, God gathers the nations to the valley of Jehoshaphat (Jehovah judges) to enter in to judgment with them there, which is the battle of Armageddon. At the public coming, the Lord smites the nations (Rev. 19:15) with great judgments of fire, war, and bloodshed to the horse’s bridle (Rev. 14:20). In other words, Armageddon is a time when billions die.(2) The judgment of the Day of the Lord. Two men will be in a field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at a mill; one will be taken, and one will be left (Luke 17:34-37). Where will they be taken? Jesus said, “Where the body is, there also will the vultures be gathered” (Luke 17:37; NASB). In other words, body means they are dead and the vultures are gathered to eat them. They will be killed in God’s judgment during the Day of the Lord. Jeremiah prophesies about this day, “At that time those slain by the LORD will be everywhere–from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground” (Jer. 25:33; NIV). Billions will die in this judgment.
(3) The judgment of the mark of the beast. Those who have the mark will be already judged (Rev. 14:9-11). All of them once they die will automatically go to Hell. The unbelievers who live will populate the nations of the world and the overcomers (the church/Israel) will rule over them and their offspring with a rod of iron (Rev. 2:26).
(4) The judgment of separation. When Jesus comes, He will separate the righteous from the wicked when He catches the saints up into the air at His public coming. At that time, the saints receive new bodies. These new bodies (immortal verses mortal) create a total separation. “Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages. PS 50:4 He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people: PS 50:5 “Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” PS 50:6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge” (Psalm 50:3-6; NIV). The saints on the earth are the Tribulation saints. “And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens” (Mark 13:27; NIV). Who is going to hold the Tribulation saints down when the Lord calls for them on earth. They will be caught up into the air and given new immortal bodies when the Lord comes at His public coming. Then they will be judged. Revelation 11:15-18 declares this judgment. At the coming of the Lord, all saints from every dispensation will be given new immortal bodies. These new bodies separate us from the nations.
Once again, Tim LaHaye goes against his contemporary pretribbers. He writes this about the Tribulation saints at the public coming in Psalms 50:1-6, “This would indicate that He will rapture the tribulation saints still living and the tribulations saints whose souls are under the altar (Rev. 6)…Now, having raptured all believers from all ages, He will come to an exclusively unsaved earth.” (Tim LaHaye, Revelation Illustrated & Made Plain, page 260.) According to Tim LaHaye, when Jesus comes publicly, there will be no saved people on the earth and that’s why we don’t need a Matt. 25 judgment. Therefore, Jesus doesn’t have to separate the sheep from the goats because they were separated at His public coming.
Because of these four judgments against the nations, there is no need for a Matt. 25 judgment. This Matt. 25 judgment will take place at the end of the millennium where a judgment is needed. After the millennium, the devil is allowed to deceive the nations for one last time.
When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth–Gog and Magog–to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Rev. 20:7-10; NIV)
Billions once again will choose to follow the devil instead of God. Once again the fire comes down and destroys these people who surround Jerusalem, the people in the nations will need to be judged. There will be large numbers of people who did not come to Jerusalem, but agreed with their mission and supported them. The angels will go into the nations of the earth and put the sheep on the right and the goats (those who supported the rebellion) on the left of the throne of God. After the thousand years, the Matt. 25 judgment is for the living and the great white throne judgment is for the dead. The Matt. 25 judgment is needed here at the end of the millennium and it might take place in the air above earth because the old earth is going to flee away at this time and a new earth will replace it.
